Max Gitman established the Ashland Shirt and Pajama Company in 1932 in Ashland Pennsylvania. The factory built a strong reputation for quality and workmanship as a contract shop producing private label for many prestigious U.S. retailers. In 1978 the Gitman label was established were the factory started producing it’s own label shirts. Today they remain a specialised shirt maker.
